Boondocks

Last summer I won $50 bucks at Boondocks and we finally went a couple weeks ago and had a really fun time.
Champ held down the orange button and kept hitting the yellow and red as fast as he could. He learned to get as many tickets as he could.

Skee ball Champers

Rocket took care of the tickets we all won

Champ was just tall enough to ride. I wouldn't even know where to start if they told him he was to short.

We all took naps after spending 5 hours there. Rocket has started to suck his thumb.

Inauguration 2009

40 of us troopers have been in Washington D. C. for the last week. We were there along with 4000 other officers to assist with the Inauguration. Our job was to stand on Pennsylvania Ave and 15th Street along the parade route. It was just East of the White House. It was a once in a lifetime chance that I will never forget. We were deputized as U.S. Marshalls and given inauguration police badges for the event. We got first class treatment the whole time there. We worked side by side with other agencies around the country, Secret Service and the FBI. We didn't get to visit many sites while we were there but did visit the National Police Memorial. As you know there were millions of people there all of us froze our butts off. It was a crazy atmosphere with everyone was dancing and partying in the street. I did see the whole parade and Obama/Biden and families.

Champ and the dogs

After working in Southen Utahfor the last five days I arrived home with a great Sunday dinner already to eat and Champ waiting for us. Champ helped Tank get brushed and fed and put up for the night. What a great helper.
Most of Christmas break was spent taking Bang out to find pheasants and quail. When Bang would flush them out Champ would shoot them with his sword.

I'm excited about food storage!!

I found a fantastic website that will help me to build my food/water/nonfood item storage in a year! It's step by step so it's easy and attainable and they've done all the work for me! They'll also help me learn how to use coupons and learn to cook with my food storage. Check it out, they are doing giveaways this week on their new website:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Even Rocket was excited to welcome 2009! He slept through most of the party but was awake to join in on the countdown and celebration.
Champ ready to bring in the new year with a noise maker and double-candled, sprinkle-covered cupcake.

Cham played Musical Chairs...notice him butting the 9 yr old girl out of the way--no mercy!

We wore our PJ's to our cousin's Birthday Party Sleepover for 2009 last night. Champ had a blast hitting the pinata, decorating cupcakes, making party hats, playing musical chairs, exchanging gifts, playing Bingo, and running around with cousins and friends. We had a blast with him.

Trooper of the YEAR!!

Here's the article from The Clipper:

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Chamberlin Neff enjoys tracking down and arresting those who have illegal drugs in their possession. The Woods Cross native was honored last week as Utah’s Trooper of the Year. He was nominated by his supervisors, who then submitted the nomination to the Honorary Trooper’s Association, who chose him from a number of nominees for the work he has done, not only in hunting down those with drugs in their possession, but in saving lives and arresting criminals on other charges. Neff works out of the Salt Lake City office of the Highway Patrol, but lives in Woods Cross with his wife, a 4-year-old son and a newborn son. Just in the past year, Neff has gone to extraordinary lengths in the line of duty, jumping into a canal to save a suicidal woman, saving a 20-month-old from a suicidal father, apprehending a murder suspect wanted in Idaho, and arresting the son of a movie star found with two duffel bags of marijuana in his car. He also served 527 warrants and took 100 suspects into custody, in addition to making 38 drug arrests. He helped train five new troopers and served a tour of duty in Afghanistan. He serves as a dog handler for the UHP and has helped Davis Metro Narcotics Strike Force and North Salt Lake Police on drug cases. He said at the ceremony honoring him, they were joking that perhaps his wife should get a single parent of the year award. It’s probably logical that Neff should be a handler of a drug-sniffing dog. In college he wanted to be a veterinarian and took biology and chemistry courses to prepare himself for that, but he said he took a criminal justice class to round out his courses and, “I got hooked on the justice system.” So, he graduated with a degree in criminal justice and was hired by the UHP in October 2005. “My main focus is on finding drugs and I’m willing to assist other agencies,” he said. He also said he wants to continue putting those who traffic illegal drugs behind bars.
